All the talk and opposition is worthless
unless we tell the Mayor and Council what we think
before they vote on Wednesday!
You may already be against the Parkway proposals. You may have read the content here and decided you don’t want to see our greenspace converted to roads. You may have joined the over 6,000 people who have signed a petition against a bridge through Jackson Park, on-line and on paper. You may be upset and want to stop all of this.
No matter what your reasons — if you don’t want the roads and bridges, only one thing counts:
Contacting your Mayor and City Councillors now
They have the power. They get to decide. They control the money. They think people want this. All the protests, all the signatures, all the signs, all the articles, all the letters to the editors, all the emails… they do not matter if councillors do not hear from you, the citizen.
Here is how (in order of effectiveness)
- Written letters (if you are sure they will be read in time)
- Phone calls (be polite, brief and clear about your opinion)
- Emails — individual links below, or write to all members of Council
- Direct Tweets (if they tweet)
If you know your Councillor (or any of them) personally, an in-person discussion is best of all.
You can influence others, too: friends, neighbours, family, co-workers. Make them aware. Help them understand. Ask them to act. Invite them to join our mailing list. Check out our Act Now! page for details.
Then come to the special Council meeting at the Evinrude Centre at 6:30 pm on Wed. November 20th.
